Overview

The consolidated realm is one of the in built realm solutions in Unify. It can be used to content to mulitple LDAP sources and one local source to have one realm made up of users from many different sources. Before 4.3.1.8 all users within a consolidated realm were read only and it was not possible create/ delete users. With the introduction of Local realms in 4.3.1.8, it is now possible to create/edit users within a consolidated realm.

Sub configurations

The different sources that make up a consolidated realm are called sub configurations. You can add and delete these on the edit page of a consolidated realm.

LDAP Realm

This works in exactly the same as a normal LDAP realm and has all of the same properties as normal LDAP realm. A consolidated realm can contain any number of sub LDAP realms.

Local Realm (since 4.3.1.8)

It is only possible to have one Local sub realm for each consolidated realm. A local realm works in a similar way to a JDBC realm. All users are created and stored within the Unify database. If a consolidated realm contains a local sub realm, it is then possible to create and edit users within that consolidated realm.
